Jake Prell

Jacob was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.�He started piano at age 5 and has been playing for 27 years, 10 years as a professional musician.�After playing guitar in college in a band named Chatterbox, he joined the acoustic cover group, The Great Hill Band in Columbus, Ohio.�There he got his first taste of dueling pianos at Howl at the Moon in the Brewery district and proceeded to play 4 of their locations.

�He went to play at the Howl in Baltimore, MD under the legendary tutiledge of Todd Cutshaw.�After a year of the east coast, he was on the opening crew of Howl�s Bourbon St. branch and played there for 2+ years.�After a quick stint at the L.A. branch, he decided to go independent. Under the once Gary Mumford and Associates, he helped to open such clubs around the country as Pub 13 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Ernie Biggs branches in Little Rock, Arkansas and Springfield, Missouri, the Penguin in Columbia, Missouri and Mojo�s in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Although mostly classically trained in the beginning, his influences branch from blues and rock & roll to heavy metal and industrial.�Besides piano, he plays guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, and various other instruments.�

With such heroes as Gershwin, Beethoven, Handel, SRV, Robert Johnson, Keb� Mo, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, Social Distortion and others, his variety of influences is broad.�
